My approach to bodywork is shaped by a synthesis of traditions, disciplines, and research that converge in what I call attuned touch—a way of engaging with the body that inherently integrates mindfulness (embodied presence) and heartfulness into skilled, responsive interaction. My work draws from extensive training in Osho Rebalancing™, Ancient Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Quiromasaje, The Trager® Approach, and other somatic methodologies, alongside deep influences from Zen Buddhism, Iyengar Yoga, and the evolving field of mindfulness research.
Beyond bodywork traditions, my post-graduate exploration of mindfulness and skilled creative action—where mastery meets the unpredictability of each new moment—has profoundly informed how I understand and teach somatic engagement. This perspective aligns with the idea that healing is not a formulaic process but a dynamic, moment-to-moment exchange guided by the body's sensory intelligence.
I have articulated this synthesis in my books, Embodied Presence & Attuned Touch and Softer, Slower, Smaller, Still, where I explore how somatic mindfulness refines therapeutic interaction, emphasizing minimal yet precise input, hormetic effects, and the transformative potential of touch. These works serve as a foundation for those seeking to deepen their understanding of how skilled, intentional touch can foster profound shifts in awareness, structure, and well-being.
Rather than viewing these influences as a fixed lineage, I see them as a living dialogue—an evolving synthesis of knowledge, experience, and continuous inquiry. My work is an extension of the teachers, traditions, and research that have shaped me, and it continues to grow as I refine my understanding of the art and science of therapeutic touch.
