Innocence ...
I saw a girl. She is 7. She is happy, bright, and born with a spine that didn’t grow past L1 (lumbar vertebra 1). She has seen castles and world wonders. She doesn’t know that her grandma works seven days a week to educate her and show her the world. She doesn’t know I secretly cried when I imagined the challenges she may encounter later in life. She doesn’t know she helped me realize how unimportant some “important” things are.
